Thanks, I may do it today. I did have a question. Can I update the firmware BIOS after doing this process if I'm successful? And if not, is there anything I can do to remove the cartridge protection to enable it to function as a normal legitimate cartridge? I remember someone mentioning editing some values to remove the protection.

Hello,

If you try to update with official firmware update, you will brick it again.
It's possible to modify firmware for by pass this security, but no release at this time.

Okay I need help haha. Desoldered the chip without issue. Put the chip into the programmer and I get no adapter error. I took photos of the entire process, maybe I'm doing something wrong. It won't read the chip.

It's XGECU T48, sorry for the confusion

Your software ask a specific adapter for your programmer :
ADP_F48_EX-1

That sucks, $30 for the wrong adapter and the new one costs another $21. In case I messed up the m29w640ft chip, should I also order a couple of new chips along with the proper adapter? I'm just thinking that if I ruined the chip during removal somehow, I don't want to wait for extra month? I can flash a brand new m29w640 chip and put it back into the cartridge right?

I'm going to spend way more money now trying to fix the cartridge than buy a legitimate replacement from krikzz but I'm still angry and want to prove that I can do it. If I fail, I'll buy a legitimate replacement.

When i check the picture, you have make a good work, your flash memory should be ok.
I recommend to save your money, and just buy the good adapter for XGECU T48.

Resale your bad adapter, lot of people looking for it

Thank you, but theoretically, and for my own knowledge, could I buy brand new m29w640ft chip, flash that and put it back into the cartridge? I guess what I'm asking is, there is nothing special about m29w640ft chip that comes with the cartridge. Thanks again for your help, adapter should arrive in about a month. I will put this project on hold until then.

Okay I have an update.
Got the proper adapter and extra m29w640ft chips. I ended up just flashing a new chip and then confirmed the programmer could read it.

Resoldered the chip back on the cartridge and now I get black screen. Confirmed another cartridge plays in the system. Any ideas?

If you do not replace the OS file, the original OS will brick your Everdrive V3 again.

If everything is correct, redo the soldering.

Everything should work fine after that.
